We Need You ! Studio2
VOLUNTEER / WISH LIST - skills base required / expertise required - What can you offer your volunteers in return?
We welcome volunteers to support Studio2/ the Margaret Freeman Gallery with specialist tasks such as hanging, organising and promoting exhibitions, marketing our gallery, fundraising towards our operation costs and offering skilled one-on-one artistic support to some of our artists. Interested volunteers are encouraged to come into the Studio to meet the crew and discuss ways to become involved.
We can offer volunteers an opportunity to get hands on experience operating a gallery, a chance to meet some fantastic people, view interesting artworks and help build bridges between our artists and the wider Dunedin arts community. We can provide volunteers with a letter of recommendation acknowledging your contributions to our projects, and students may be able to credit volunteer hours towards their qualification as part of Otago Polytechnics ‘Student Army.’ We can also offer exhibition space in our gallery for artists who assist us – or talk about other ways we can help you out.
WISH LIST
Studio2 and the Margaret Freeman Gallery currently receive no public funding and rely on a $5 per session fee from artists, as well as grants from charitable trusts. If anybody is interested in becoming a donor, leaving a bequest or offering support with running costs (rent, electricity), sourcing materials or assisting with fundraising we would be delighted to hear from you on 03 474 5949 or at [email protected]. We can offer a variety of rewards from artworks to promoting your business as a sponsor of our projects.
